Helen Wilkinson
(Helen Catherine) Chaplin FamilyHelen is a Sydneysider, born and brought up on the North Shore (Northwood). After nursing training at St
Vincent's Hospital, Sydney, she did an Operating Theatre course and subsequently went to Europe, working in Birmingham, UK, where she met Jim and established a relationship based on her superiority in
such activities as squash, swimming, skiing and beer drinking.Despite this inequality she agreed to marry him and, 40 years on, they are as well matched as ever!
After marriage she lived in Liverpool for 15 years, having four lovely sons, who all grew up with strong Scouse accents and allegiance to various soccer clubs on Merseyside and in the North West of England. After the children were all at
school she returned to work in the operating theatres at the Royal Liverpool Children's Hospital, Myrtle Street.
After returning to Australia
in 1988 she worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Epworth Hospital, St Vincent's Private Hospital and at Melbourne Private Hospital. She was the nurse manager for Cardiac Operating Theatres at Melbourne Private Hospital until she
retired in 2008. She now enjoys golf and Cello, playing with the U3A orchestra. Email:-
